HOSTING YOUR WEDDING AT PRINCESS DIANA’S CHILDHOOD HOME

You can now walk the same halls Princess Diana did during her childhood and possibly even tie the knot there! Althorp House, the majestic estate where Princess Diana grew up, has just been listed for rent, and it’s making waves as an extraordinary wedding venue.

When it comes to your big day, the venue sets the stage for everything. It’s the backdrop that paints the tone and ambiance of your celebration. With so many options out there—from serene countryside landscapes to trendy cityscapes—the choice is yours. But if you've always dreamt of a regal affair, here's a royal spot to consider: Althorp House, Princess Diana's childhood home, is up for rent, and word is, it’s open for hosting weddings.

As of October 1, 2023, The Mirror spilled the beans on this news, mentioning that the estate, nestled in West Northamptonshire, England, is available for rent via Elysian Estates, an upscale property rental site. The listing, reportedly posted by Diana’s brother, Earl Charles Spencer, doesn’t explicitly mention the rental price, but it's safe to assume that spending a night here might cost a small fortune.

Picture this: Althorp House might just be your upscale royal wedding destination. The property boasts various rooms suitable for a moderate-sized celebration, accommodating different phases of your wedding weekend. The dining room can host up to 140 guests, the meeting room 200, and the reception room a whopping 250.

And get this—up to 72 people can stay overnight on-site! Whether it’s your close-knit family or the entire guest list, there’s room for everyone. Plus, the rental package includes a private chef, drinks services, luxury car hires, helicopter transfers, live piano music, and even a fireworks display! From catering to transportation, music to entertainment, they've got it all covered. Oh, and did I mention on-site spa treatments? Perfect for those pre-wedding nerves or post-celebration relaxation.

Now, there are a couple of things you can't do at Althorp House. Visiting Diana’s grave, located on the property, is off-limits. The privacy of her resting place has been respected since her passing in 1997, so the island in the middle of Oval Lake isn't accessible either.

But here's the best part: Althorp House itself is a sight to behold. Its grand exterior and opulent interior are practically ready-made decorations for your event. And let's not forget, it’s nestled amidst 13,000 acres of Northamptonshire’s natural beauty. The listing itself speaks volumes about the rich history of the property, frequented by royalty and elite since 1508. This mansion has seen more than just Lady Di’s story—it’s been a witness to political gatherings, extravagant balls, and even clandestine marriages, as mentioned on the website.
